A look back at the 1940s

A group of graduates from Kellogg High School recently put together a nice history of the Silver Valley, which was recently published in the Shoshone News Press. It is remarkable how much different the Silver Valley was when the Bunker Hill mine was up and running in full force. Ultimately, labor-management conflicts contributed greatly to the closing of the mine in the early 1980s. Since then, the valley has turned more to tourism and recreation as a primary industry.
